kateCase Manager

Kate joined The Focal Point in 2009 and has worked on a wide range of matters with clients across the country. Kate approaches projects from an organized and analytical frame of mind and has a special interest in applying human-centered problem solving to her work. This unique technique developed from a background working in interfaith dialogue and conflict resolution and spending time at the Esalen Institute with some of the world’s top thinkers and philosophers. She recently participated in a program with a group of TFP colleagues at Stanford’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design to foster and hone the marriage of analytical skills and innovative design thinking.

In her work at The Focal Point, Kate has supported a variety of clients, from Samsung, to Google, to the city of Emeryville. She loves any case that allows her to dig in and learn about a piece of complex technology or complicated processes.

Kate graduated from the University of Oregon with a double major in Religious Studies and International Studies. She lives in San Francisco, and her passions for travel and learning keep her on the road and in the classroom as much as possible.

“If at first an idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.”
