Kathryn Golden
Case Manager
Kathryn joined The Focal Point in 2008 as a case manager. She has extensive experience managing client relationships in a variety of industries, including software, education and financial services. For a time, she explored her inner insanity by opening a small, natural foods corner market, and co-directing a jazz performance space. With additional experience in marketing, operations and training, Kathryn’s favorite types of cases are business focused, such as fraud or contract disputes.
Kathryn has provided onsite support to clients from Boston and Rhode Island, to East Texas and Los Angeles. She also worked on our first international trial, Silzone Canada. Kathryn has been a driving force in The Focal Point’s Community Service efforts, connecting us to local projects and coordinating our volunteer efforts. Also a leader in our probono efforts, Kathryn helps with cases that reflect the culture of our organization—from Legal Community Against Violence’s work to strengthen gun regulations, to Perry v. Schwarzenneger’s effort to expand marriage equality.
Originally from a dot on the map called Chillicothe, MO, Kathryn has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Northeast Missouri State University. When not working, she enjoys digging in the dirt; borrowing other people’s children; photographing architecture, parades and protests; and seeking out the random odd event around the Bay Area.
“What matters?”
(Chip Conley)
This is a big one for me in all areas of life—it’s a reminder to not get bogged down in the things that don’t really get you to where you want to be. It’s a good reminder to stay focused.
